New resource published: Nova Scotia Wild Blueberry Crop Development Schedule and Management Recommendations

This guide (updated in February 2023) shows when key wild blueberry growth stages will occur under the calendar months. I also included the most up-to-date growing degree days (GDDs) for those critical stages. Please note, GDD research for wild blueberry plant growth stages is ongoing and we will provide updates on those GDD numbers each year when more data are collected during growing seasons. 

I also listed the best management practices for wild blueberry production in Nova Scotia. We encourage growers to monitor fields and make decisions on a field-by-field basis. Growers outside of Nova Scotia, please consult your local specialist to verify that information before implementing.
