Fall Reminders!!

Friday, October 25, 2019

So everyone should have started mowing by now.  We are also in the window of several fall herbicides, like Chateau (for Moss) and Ignite (for a burn down treatment).

We are still a touch early for Kerb applications (for Hair Fescue), but soil temperatures are heading in the right direction and I expect Kerb applications can begin soon.  Just a reminder soil temperatures should be below 10 degrees Celcius and the ground shouldn't be frozen when Kerb is applied.

Colvoy Equipment is doing a demo of  the new rotary mower (The Cyclone). It is next Tuesday, Oct 29th @ 1 PM (Millen Farms in Great Village, 80 Little Dyke Rd) .  Farmers are welcome to come and see how this piece of equipment works in a wild blueberry setting.

New Video on mowing basics

Wednesday, February 17, 2016

We've just created a new video that goes over the basics of mowing in wild blueberry.  Click on the link below to take a peak.  It is also linked off of our website www.perennia.ca, look for the YouTube link on the right side of the screen.

Also, I am in the middle of updating the blueberry pest guides.  There are several new products that have been registered over the last couple of years.  With all of these new products, it is important that you check with your processor or buyer to make sure the products you are planning to use are allowable in their markets.  I will be posting the new guides in early March.
