The 2026 wild blueberry harvest is still underway, with a
substantial acreage remaining to be harvested, particularly in Cape Breton and
eastern Nova Scotia. The rainfall and strong winds during the Labour Day long
weekend had a negative impact on unharvested wild blueberry fields, especially
in these regions. We are currently assessing potential crop damage from this
significant weather event. If you have observations or information about damage

We would also like to share a few resources and reminders to
help with your fall wild blueberry field management and provide information
about potential support available through the Drought Recovery Program offered
by the Nova Scotia Department of Agriculture.

weeks to discuss the Drought Recovery Program and fall field management

considerations to help you prepare for this fall’s field activities. We will
